Project Overview
The 293,000-square-foot Minnesota Senate Building, the first new legislative facility near the State Capitol since 1991, honors local craftsmanship with Minnesota limestone, quartered white ash, and Danby marble. Designed to support public engagement, it houses offices for all 67 state senators, three hearing rooms – including the largest in the Capitol Complex – and workspace for 360 employees. Prioritizing accessibility and collaboration, the building fosters transparency in government. Completed on time for the 2016 legislative session, it stands as a lasting investment in Minnesota’s democratic infrastructure.
ASI’s Contribution
ASI Architectural provided 3,525 square feet of Audition wood acoustic panels in white ash for the Minnesota State Senate Building. Selected to highlight Minnesota craftsmanship, the panels contribute warmth and texture to the space while helping manage sound within key legislative areas. Together, these elements support a setting that is both inviting and well-suited for focused discussion and public engagement.
