Project Overview

The Athletes Village at the University of Minnesota serves as the home for the school’s football and basketball programs, providing state-of-the-art spaces for practice, training, conditioning, and nutrition. Consisting of four integrated buildings – a center for excellence, a basketball performance center, an indoor football practice facility, and a football performance center – the village streamlines student-athletes’ daily routines while fostering academic and athletic growth. With natural light, sweeping campus views, and cutting-edge amenities, the Athletes Village enhances the student-athlete experience, blending training, education, and leadership development in one centralized location.

ASI’s Contribution

For the University of Minnesota’s premier Athletes Village, ASI Architectural was tasked with creating two distinct environments to support its top-tier athletic programs. In the expansive main lobby, we provided nearly 6,300 square feet of our Audition 8 T&G ceiling planks finished in a bright maple veneer to create a light and airy atmosphere. To precisely match the architect’s vision, we engineered a custom groove and perforation pattern, delivering a bespoke acoustic solution that feels both open and grand.

In contrast, the locker and meeting rooms required a feeling of warmth and professionalism. Here, we supplied nearly 2,400 square feet of our Fusion panels in a rich cherry veneer. These panels featured a custom oval slotted perforation pattern, engineered to increase acoustical performance in these critical spaces, and were further customized with integrated University of Minnesota logos, seamlessly blending school pride with sophisticated design.
