UCF College of Nursing

Project Name: UCF College of Nursing

Location: Orlando, FL

Project Completion: 2025

Project Overview

UCF College of Nursing has opened a new state-of-the-art nursing facility in Orlando, Florida. The 90,000-square-foot building features flexible classrooms, collaborative study areas, and advanced simulation labs, including spaces for virtual reality training and clinical examinations. Designed to prepare students for real-world practice, the project will have a lasting impact on Central Florida, as many graduates remain in the state to live and work. The interior architecture is enhanced by custom curved wall and ceiling systems that create a seamless, welcoming environment within the main entry and commons. The new nursing pavilion is intended to create meaningful change by strengthening healthcare education and supporting the community, serving as a place where students, educators, and researchers come together to learn, innovate, and solve critical healthcare challenges for generations to come.

ASI’s Contribution

ASI’s product scope encompassed nearly 6,000 square feet of custom interior panel systems, including 847 square feet of stained PS maple perforated Fusion wall panels, 3,933 square feet of PS maple perforated Fusion ceiling panels, and 1,114 square feet of PS maple flat Fusion panels. The curved ceiling was the primary challenge, requiring each panel to be uniquely sized and tapered so the system could maintain a consistent radius and align precisely with the building’s geometry. Custom coordination and fabrication were essential to ensure accurate perforation alignment and a seamless visual transition across all surfaces. The completed installation reflects a high level of precision and craftsmanship, bringing a complex design together into a cohesive finished result.
